The Eddie Boy Band was a great Chicago rock band in the early to mid-70's. They played frequently and were extremely popular in clubs and had a regular gig at the Wise Fools Pub for quite awhile. They were one of the first bands to play the area w/ two drummers. Mark Goldenberg and Josh Leo played Guitars, wrote most of the material and sang most of the stuff w/ Tim Walkoe on bass contibuting. Their material was rock w/ a little country flavor from time to time. Their fans were eager for a recording and in 1975 they put out "The Eddie Boy Band." The band was very disappointed w/ the recordng quality. They broke up shortly after that. Mark Goldenberg went on to form the Cretones whose biggest claim to fame was that Linda Rondsadt recorded a couple of their tunes. Josh Leo, the other guitar player cut one eponymous albumn then went on to play w/ Jimmy Buffet in the Coral Reefer Band. I believe he went on to produce music and may still be in the business. As a fan it was a shame that they didn't hang on. Their sound and talent easily competed w/ the Eagles and the Doobie Brothers.
