John Lennon was the nominal leader of the Beatles, but the group was a democracy. If any one member objected strongly to an idea, they usually didn't carry it out.

Lennon can be considered the leader of the Beatles because around 1957, he formed a band called the Quarrymen. Paul McCartney (in 1957) and George Harrison (in 1958) joined Quarrymen later. Quarrymen changed their name to the Beatles in 1960. And Ringo Starr joined after they got signed with EMI-Parlophone Records in 1962. So Lennon is seen as the leader because he was the one who first founded the band that became the Beatles.

All four of The Beatles sang. George Harrison and Ringo Starr were usually only given one song each per album, or the B-sides of singles, with John Lennon and Paul McCartney trading lead vocal duties for the rest.

The Beatles were a very poluar group and beloved by many individuald. The lead singers were John Lennon and Paul Mccartney. They were a British band that sang Rock Music.

The other three Beatles always looked toward John as the "leader" in the early days. If you watch carefully, view films of early interviews with the group and see how often the other three would turn to John to answer on behalf of the band. In interviews during his solo years, John referred to the Beatles as "his" band, since he formed it and chose the members. In later years, John more or less abdicated his leadership role. Paul tried to fill the vacuum, but this only added to the tension among the group, as witnessed in the Let It Be film.

The singer heard on The Beatles' version of "Yesterday" is Paul McCartney. While the song itself was written over a single night's sleep, McCartney held onto the melody for over a month, as he was concerned that he had plagiarized the tune from another source.

The original lyrics included the first line, "Scrambled eggs, have an omelette with some Muenster cheese". Any indication that such a line as had been reported, "Scrambled eggs, oh baby how I love your legs" is often dismissed as nonsense by Paul.

the lead singer of the Beatles was called Paul McCartney.

How on earth can anybody not know that they had two? John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Listening to any of their albums will tell you this.

All four of them sung lead, but generally not in the same song.

John and Paul sang most of the songs. George was usually allotted one or two per album (usually the ones he himself wrote). Ringo sang about one song on most albums.
