1. In The Sorceror's Stone, the teacher's name was Quirinus Quirrel.

2. In Chamber of Secrets, the teacher's name was Gilderoy Lockhart.

3. In Prisoner of Azkaban, the teacher's name was Remus Lupin.

4. In Goblet of Fire, the teacher's name was Alastor Moody. However, we later learned that it was really Barty Crouch, Jr. posing as Moody, using Polyjuice Potion.

5. In Order of the Phoenix, the teacher's name was Dolores Umbridge.

6. In Half-Blood Prince, Severus Tobias Snape took over the position at last, and Horace Slughorn took over his original position as Potions Master.

7. In Deathly Hallows, Severus appointed the Carrow siblings, Alecto and Amycus, to the position following his rise as Headmaster.
