Seeing as most people (at least the good ones) did survive, it would be easier to answer by telling you who died. Some characters who died are as follows:

Fred Weasley, Bellatrix Lestrange, Mad-Eye Moody, Dumbledore, Voldemort, Snape, Tonks, Lupin, Sirius Black, Wormtail/Pettigrew, Ted Tonks, Griphook, Dobby, Crabbe.

Some major characters who survived are: Harry, Ron Hermione, Ginny, all the Weasleys other than Fred, Neville, Luna, Draco (and his parents), Hagrid, McGonagall, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Aberforth, Prof. Sprout, Prof. Slughorn, and Prof. Flitwick.
