The original "Notorious" is about a woman (Ingrid Bergman) asked (played by Cary Grant) to spy on a group of Nazis (Claude Raines). It's a classic 1946 black-and-white film that is part love story (Bergman-Grant), part Alfred Hitchcock thriller, part historical drama, part film noir.

The cast and directing are great. Bergman is especially good as the woman torn by who she's typecast as and who she wants to be.

A new movie by the same name was released in December. It's a biographical movie of the gansta rapper Nortorious B.I.G. (a.k.a. Christopher Wallace). It charts the Brooklyn rapper's rise to fame and how he did it his way.

The new "Notorious" stars Derek Luke, Anthony Mackie, Angela Bassett and Naturi Naughton. It's directed by George Tillman, Jr. and produced by Voletta Wallace, the rapper's mother.
