The band Vinnie Pauleone and the BaDaBing Orchestra did it for the show. Actually its a song called "Woke Up This Morning" by British band "Alabama 3" later shortened to "A3" for legal reasons. Its of there 1997 album "Exile on Coldharbour Lane". Also a few of there other songs can be heard throughout the series as they are a favorite band of "Sopranos" creator David Chase.
