The 1960 were an amazing decade for music. You would have heard the British Invasion bands like the Beatles, the Who, and the Rolling Stones. You would also have heard folk-rock by Simon & Garfunkel and the Byrds; and hard rock from Jimi Hendrix, and Big Brother & the Holding Company (with lead singer Janis Joplin). Motown (rhythm & blues) was popular-- The Supremes, Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, and the Jackson Five were played a lot on the radio. And there were psychedelic groups like the Jefferson Airplane, and protest singers (who sang about problems in society) like Bob Dylan and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
