Yes and no. Ace was in the band until 1982, and recorded both of those albums, but Bob Ezrin, who produced Destroyer, brought in a session guitarist, Dick Wagner, to do some of the guitar solos on the album, reportedly due to Frehley's partying. Wagner plays the guitar solo on "Sweet Pain", and the acoustic guitar on "Beth".
the lead guitar player Ace Frehley got kicked out, and made his own band "Frehley's Comet"
KISS
KISS
The original line up was as follows Paul Stanley (Vocals) Gene Simmons ( Bass Guitar) Ace Frehley ( Lead Guitar) and Pete Criss ( Drums)
Ace left in 1983 and during the Farewell tour, due to drug use and booze in 1983, and an argument about how KISS was opening for Aerosmith, he is happier currently when asked in Guitar Player
Paul Stanley (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons (lead vocals and bass guitar), Ace Frehley (lead guitar and vocals), and Peter Criss (drums, percussion and vocals) ;-)
"Deuce" was the first song that all four played together; in fact, it was the song Ace Frehley audtioned with.
Ace Frehley (born Paul Daniel Frehley on April 27, 1951 in The Bronx, New York) is an American musician, the former lead guitarist of the band Kiss.
Tommy Thayer is now the lead guitar player! He wears Ace Frehley's make up! ONLY because Ace sold his make-up rights to Gene Simmons! Tommy is known throughout the KISS world as "replace Ace".
The demon in Kiss is played by bass guitar Gene Simmons.
It was Ace Frehley, in 1982.
