CMM Advertising, Inc. introduced the 30-second Quaker Oatmeal commercials starring Dick Van Dyke. In one 30-second spot entitled "Phone Talker". The commercial opens with Dick Van Dyke eating Quaker Oatmeal while talking on the telephone as Fats Waller's "Louisiana Fairytale" plays in the background. When he said "Hi, Mary Tyler Moore, I just got the real deal here, Now I'm eating Quaker Oatmeal". As the camera follows him, Dick Van Dyke is still talking on the phone when he eats a Quaker Oatmeal as he says "Understandably I got here that I was a kid". As Dick Van Dyke is still talking on the phone when he eats Quaker Oatmeal as he says "I don't really care but I want to know". At the end of the commercial, Dick Van Dyke is still talking on the telephone as he eats Quaker Oats when he says "Okay, Mary, I got a difference here. MMM!". Then we cut to a shot of a Quaker Oats box and the camera zooms in on the face of Quaker Oats guy as the announcer says "Give all the taste you need is Quaker Oats".
The cannons at the end are from Tchaiskovy's Overture of 1812. Not sure if the rest of the commercial used the music from the overture
