Who is john Joseph quelch?

A British colonial zoologist who lived from 1854. He was a contributor to the Challenger reports, the scientific voyage commissioned by the British government in 1872. He was also a curator at the British Guiana Museum (Demerera) from 1886.Quelch went on expedition to Mount Roraima in British Guiana with F.V. McConnell in 1898. He married Gertrude Sainsbury in 1884 in Kensington, London.
