Ernest Henderson (1897-1967) and Robert Moore were Harvard Classmates (1918). They partnered with Ernest's brother George Henderson using their WWI bonuses of $1000 each to begin a real estate company which owned 3 hotels. The hotel located in Back Bay of Boston (later part of Boston University) was named after the English Cabinetmaker Sheraton. To remove it's enormous Sheraton sign would have cost, acording to Henderson family legend, $10,000 to remove, which was a king's ransom. Thus the three hotels became Sheratons and an international American corporation was begun.
I believe they both belong to Broadway Gypsies or something like that. There are photos of Florence Henderson, Mary Tyler Moore, and Betty White standing with Carl Reiner at a luncheon.
