A deity created by H.P Lovecraft. Several hundred feet tall, blubbery with a squid-like face, and demon-like wings. In the short story "Call of Cthulhu" Cthulhu was imprisoned in a city which sank beneath the waves in the Pacific Ocean eons ago. The city briefly reappears, as a ship passes by. The sailors barely escape with their lives and sanity.

no, cthulhu is only a creature created by lovecraft. but i believe he portrays a symbol. stories of cthulhu have influenced peoples lives, so does that mean it's real? or do we really have the right to judge whether something is real or not. if because you cant touch or hear it a good reason not to believe something is real. you cant touch or taste buddha, but he has influenced so many peoples lives, so does that make him real? i guess what im trying to say here is, because imaginary things have influenced our lives so much, that they are real, in the hearts and minds of the people.
