Steve Weller was raised on a small farm in Utah. He walked eight miles to get to school everyday. When he wasn't working on the farm at his home, he was making comic strips. These comic strips where revolutionary. The strip, titled Scootah Steve, covered themes such as young love, hilarious tragedies, a raw depictions of life in general. His comic strips where very intriguing to say the least.
Scootah Steve focused on character development. The main characters Scootah Steve and Jimmy, the kid with the sweet glasses, had to come over many challenges. People could feel the pain in Jimmy face the day he stayed home sick. Steven's art was so full of human emotion and character.
His influence in the comic genre and literature itself will never be forgotten. Only Alan Morre's The Watchmen, Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns, and Stan Lee's and Steve Ditko's The Amazing Spider-Man can compare to Scootah Steve when it comes to comics.
