He replaced Cornelius Fudge as the Minister for Magic at the start of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. He was still the minister in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallowsand tried to get Harry to join forces with the ministry.
He was killed on August 1st 1997, during Bill and Fluer's wedding, after the Death Eaters invaded the ministry. It was said that he died protecting the whereabouts of Harry.
