Who is Roger B. Rueda?

Roger B Rueda is a teacher, lecturer, poet, fictionist, and author who loves a good laugh but also dedicates himself to teaching people the correct usage of English. His book, A Plain and Practically Lucid English Grammar, is an easy-to-use reference guide.

He has a degree in mass communications. He has had two writing fellowships - UP and MSU-IIT. His essays, poems, and short stories have been published in Philippine Panorama, Home Life, The Sunday Times, Philippines Graphic, Panay News's Files, and Hiligaynon. He also writes for DDG Magazine.

His poems have been anthologised in NCCA Mantala and by The Antithesis Collective in Under the Storm: An Anthology of Contemporary Philippine Poetry.

He has worked as administrative staff for a graduate school and as ESL teacher at college. He has had a column in The Headlines and Panay News. He has been invited as grammar and creative writing resource-speaker of several colleges and as judge for PRISSAAP contests.

He has worked as ESL/writing teacher at Jinsoo Foreign Language Institute, Inc. and as reviewer/lecturer at International Service Consulting and Management.

He is all of thirty four. He has published an English grammar book (CentralBooks) and a poetry book (binaspublishing). Currently, he is writing a Hiligaynon grammar book and compiling Hiligaynon words for his Hiligaynon-English, English Hiligaynon dictionary.

He is the editor in chief of itravel magazine.

Roger B Rueda is a a freelance writer: his poems, short stories, and essays have appeared in publications that include The Sunday Times, Philippine Panorama, Home Life, Hiligaynon, Philippines Graphic, and Files. His poems have been anthologised in the Mantala 3 (NCCA) and Under the Storm: An Anthology of Philippine Contemporary Poetry (The Antithesis Collective Publishing Company).

He received writing fellowships from the UP Institute of Creative Writing and Mindanao State University. He's the author of the books A Plain and Practically Lucid English Grammar(Centralbooks, 2009). Solitude: Poems (Binas Publishing, 2012) and contributing writer for a Makati-based magazine DDG.

He has taught ESL/writing at hi-Class Tutorial Centre/Jinsoo Foreign Language Institute.

(The his stories are strictly fictional, but all reflect the multitude of interesting people he has met over the years. When not teaching, writing fiction, both novels and short stories, has become the most fulfilling of pastimes. Also, he takes pleasure in drinking tea or coffee, playing duckpins, and eating ice cream.)
