Jose L. Santos or Joe Lad Santos is a writer-editor who was born in San Isidro, Hagonoy, Bulacan on 26 November 1949. His works include Komedya ng mga Langaw(1993), Kaladkarin(1980), Condor. He studied Journalism at the Lyceum of the Philippines(1978) while working as textile weaver in the Central Textile Mill Corporation. He first published his poems in 1968 on the newspaper taliba.His other works were published in Liwayway Magasin, tagumpay, Kislap, Mabuhay, Pilipino Free Press, the Lyceum. In 1976, he strated writing komiks, among which were published in Pinoy Klasiks, Aliwan and Silangan Komiks, eventually becoming the editor-in-chief of Graphic Arts Service Inc. (GASI) When Counterpoint Komiks and Magasin was founded, Alfredo Roces Guerrero invited GASI Manager Rodolfo Agregado to be his company's vice president. From GASI, JLS held the CKMI editor-in-chief position. 1986 was when the Pilipino Reporter Magasin was launched, one of the most widely read current events and political magazine in Filipino language.
