In the television series "House MD" - season 4, episode 9: a musician named Jim Moskowich who later changed his name to Jimmy Quid was admitted to the hospital to be diagnosed. One of the Fellows learning from Dr House named Amber was fired because she was wrong about the person she saw in the patient. At the end of the show, House played a song recorded by the patient 20 years earlier before his name change. The recording has a "folksy" sound which is quite different from his current songs which are described as a combination of "Thelonious Monk and the sound a trash compactor makes when you crawl inside it."

Actually, I've learned that Jimi Quidd, (which is the correct spelling), was a contemporary of Jimi Hendrix, and was associated with the group "Dots." Hugh Laurie, a.k.a. House, is also a musician and was clearly impressed in some way by the short lived Mr. Quidd.

---

Jimi Quidd, a Greek-American performer and producer, (originally named Jimmy Hatzidimitriou) sang lead for The Dots. Later he founded and produced Bad Brains. Quidd was born December 1, 1953 and died August 15, 1990.

sounds more like john fahey

I should think either one of your answers or possibly all of them are in some form or other incorrect... Rather it be the name of Jimmy/spelling or just your wrong info I don't know, but I do know that if This Jimmy fellow, that you describe was real he would be for sale on eBay in the records section.

If you check eBay there is nothing at all under those two or three names you folks have offered here, and if there was there is not now.

As Great as the sound was of this muscian on House There would be something about him on the internet with no doubts of who Jim was and I hope still is.

I play guitar as well and I enjoy Jimmy's? style.

Somthing is not accurate and I would like to know the truth about Jim and/or where that song played on house originated from and who wrote it plus who it was playing the song on the House Episode.

Get it together people. No guessing!!!

You can find their songs on myspace

--------

The song in question was composed and performed by Hugh Laurie. The patient's name in this episode is Jimmy Quid.

--------

The character Jimmy Quidd in the show was loosely based on the real life Jimi Quidd, or at least the name was. Quidd was, as stated earlier, a member of The Dots and founder/producer of Bad Brains. However, none of the music in the episode was by Quidd or The Dots.

The song that was supposed to be by the Quidd the character was by a band called P***y Galore, it is called 'Kicked Out.' The song at the end of the episode when he is choosing who to fire is actually by Hugh Laurie, the actor who plays Dr. House.
