Father Jerome Bertram was ordained as a Catholic Priest at Arundel Cathedral, West Sussex. He is the youngest of three brothers brought up by his parents in the village of Bignor, West Sussex. Bignor Manor to be exact.

Mrs Barbara Bertram ran the Girl Guides at the St Philip Neri Youth Club in Park Place, Arundel and she would from time to time come up the hill to our house to visit my mother. The significance of this is that Jerome would sometimes stay at our house as a guest for a short stay while Barbara and Anthony Bertram would be off somewhere on a lecture tour.

This is a short narrative of what occurred but I would like you to read the booklet

French Resistance in Sussex by Barbara Bertram published 1995

the second book is

A House for Spies

SIS operations into occupied France from a Sussex Farmhouse

Edward Wake-Walker published 2011

There's no fun in playing it safe. Why not try something a little unhinged?
