Dr. Lisa M. Tait is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and the youngest of three children born to Dr. Jerusa and Mrs. Gloria Wilson. Upon matriculating through the Baltimore City Public School System, she was admitted to Howard University in Washington, D.C. at the age of sixteen. Immediately upon receiving her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, she furthered her education at the American University in Washington, D.C. where she obtained her Master of Arts degree in General Psychology. Shortly after beginning work on her Ph.D. degree in Personality Psychology at Howard University, she received the "call to ministry" and has consequently completed the Master of Divinity and the Doctor of Ministry degrees at the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Tait has worked untiringly in the fields of education, counseling, ministry, and social service. Currently, she serves as Public Relations Manager and Therapist with the Attachment & Bonding Center of Atlanta. She also serves as CEO of Women of Destiny Ministries (www.womenofdestiny.org) and Adjunct Professor at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta. She can be heard every Tuesday on "Relationship Tuesday" with Morgan Dukes on SGN the Light (syndicated radio). She has held positions such as: Program Director for the state of Georgia's Parents Network for Better Education; Minister of Christian Education and Minister of Pastoral Care & Counseling at Victory Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, GA; Consultant for the Center for Education Reform, Washington, D.C., Member of the Charter School Appeal Board for the State of Pennsylvania; Religious Programs Chaplain at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania; Director of Family & Social Ministries at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, Washington, D.C.; as well as Counselor and Adjunct Professor at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
She has authored "Women of Destiny: Five Principles for Pursuing Your Purpose in God," Authorhouse, 2005, and has served as a contributor to "Seeds of Strength," Carter & Davis, Eds., Gateway Press, Inc., 1997, and "Those Preaching Women: A Multicultural Collection," Mitchell & Bridgemann, Eds., Judson Press, Inc., 2008.
Dr. Tait is married to the Reverend Dr. Lewis T. Tait, Jr. and together they are the proud parents of Essence Ayana Tait and Lewis Thomas Asante Tait, III.
Dr. Tait is a sought after lecturer, trainer and preacher.Her areas of focus in ministry are: Women's Empowerment, Christian Education, Youth Ministry and Pastoral Counseling.
