There are two mentions of someone under the name of Avery in Harry Potter.
The first went to school with Tom Riddle, was a member of the Slug Club, and then became one of the earliest Death Eaters.
The second is known to be a friend of Severus Snape when he was in Hogwarts. He, along with his friends, became Death Eaters. Avery did not search for Lord Voldemort upon his defeat, but was forgiven upon his return. He also fought in the Department of Mysteries. What happened to him after the Battle of Hogwarts is unknown.
It is unknown whether these two people are related, though it is possible the later is the son of the former.
(As a side note, Avery Hawkins is a chaser and the captain of the English Quidditch team.)
