I have a painting by A.Herbe and on the back was a typed bio. Born 1900 at Stammerdorf near Vienna Austria, he attended the Viennese Academy of fine arts and studied under Prof. Fahtinger who helped him very much recognize his great painting talents. Already in his early years he exhibited in the Viennese Kunstlerhaus but also in the Glaspalast and Zedlitzhalle his paintings caught on. By travels to Holland and Italy he developed further in his technique which influenced his works a good deal. Later being unable to undertake trips to foreign countries he did mostly painting of the Austrian wachau landscape and his home country of choice. I have search the internet and can't find anything on this artist.
