Voice-overs, aside from being the coolest career imaginable, are the voice talent you hear (but cannot see) when watching cartoons, web videos, TV commercials, radio, audiobooks, and documentaries, etc.
I have been tracking the names of celebrities (whom I recognize) who do the voice overs for TV commercials since 2009. To date, I have not heard Tom Hanks do the voice over for ANY commercial product in the US. With regard to Nissan TV commercials between 2009 and 2015, Robert Downy, Jr., Keifer Sutherland and Christian Slater are the celebrities who have done the voice overs. Robert Downy, Jr. has lent his voice to Nissan, Planter's Peanuts and the Apple iPhone 3g. Keifer Sutherland has lent his voice to Nissan, Verizon and Bank of America. Christian Slater has lent his voice to Nissan, Auto Trader.com and Panasonic.I have recognized the voices of Christian Slater, Keifer Sutherland and Robert Downy, Jr. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My wife claims that Tom Hanks does the voice overs on the Nissan commercials and I say that he does not. Can anyone out there help us solve this problem?!

Voice overs are a great way to give a "feel" to something, because you obviously cannot see the person, so the voice is setting the mood, tone, or atmosphere. I would say yes, but choose wisely.
Clearly it has to be Joanna Lumley!
