At the beginning of the manga Nina doesn't ''like'' anyone. Then she falls in love with Kaji. After, she realizes she can't have him and remains a loyal friend to Ayu hooks them up.Since she finds out that Kaji has a secret crush on Ayu. After Hiroki starts to see Nina in a different way and he thinks that she is ''cute'' he stars to develop feelings for her. He started to have a close friendship with her and people at school made a rumor that they are going out. Then while Nina discusses it with Hiroki. Then he says that it wouldn't be a problem if they go out for real. Nina claims that only people who ''like'' each other go out.Then Hiroki confesses his effection to Nina. She asks why and he says because she can do majic and she is fun. Nina turns him down and doesn't accept .Thinking that it doesn't have to be her it can also be any girl from the Majic Kingdom.Then she says that she is giving up boys forever. Somewhere in summer vacation they go to a fireworks festival along with Ayu, Kaji, Yuta, and Sayaka. They both realize that they are the only ones who are not going out with anybody since Ayu is going out with Kaji and Yuta is going out with Sayaka. Nina sees that even though she turned him down Hiroki is still nice and kind to her.After Nina realizes she is starting to fall in love with Hiroki. But is not so sure. Nina discusses it with Ayu. Then Ayu says that even when Hiroki didn't know she had majic, he still thought that she was ''cute'' .The next day Hiroki tells her that even though if she gave up majic or didn't have any majic he would still love her. After she realizes that she does love Hiroki and Hiroki loves her no matter what then they start to go out.
