Who are the parents of actor Bruce Boxleitner?

I am trying to find out about the actor Bruce Boxleitner's heritage. All I can find find out is where and when he was born, where he went to high school, his further education, his career, his marriages and his children. However, there is nothing I can find out about his parents, any brothers or sisters, what ancestory is or anything. Why is I can pretty much find it out about anybody else, but him. He played a sheriff in the movie, Bone Eater, in which his character is half Native American, and I am trying to find out if it is true in real life as it is with Chuck Norris is half Cherokee, and half Irish on both his mother's and father's sides of the family.
