This is a difficult question to answer, because different people are famous in different eras. In the 1950s and 1960s, you would have heard the names "Edward R. Murrow" and "Walter Cronkite." Famous women reporters back then included Pauline Frederick and Nancy Dickerson. But today's younger TV news fans might not have heard of these folks. They might only know people like Brian Williams or Anderson Cooper or Diane Sawyer or Shepard Smith. Some people also confuse commentators with news reporters, so they might think of Bill O'Reilly or Rachel Maddow, who are certainly well-known but are not the same as reporters.
