In 2006 the youngest brother Francisco Javier Arellano Felix was arrested off the Coast of Baja California Sur on his Yacht by the U.S Coast Guard he was extradited to the U.S and was sentenced to life in a U.S Federal Prison. In 2008 his brother Eduardo Arellano Felix was arrested at his home in Tijuana Baja California after a shootout with police.
