Drums are cylindars that are usually hollow the outter rim is usually made from wood ranging in alot of different kinds, or plastic, or even metal. they have a platic skin on either ends or sometimes just one and when hit with a stick / mallet makes the air inside bounce off the sides of the inside and out a little hole and makes a boom kind of sound.
