Lavender Brown and Parvarti Patil were the only other two Gryffindors with Hermione Granger.

There is some confusion to how many students attend Hogwarts at once. If there was a limit of five students of each gender to each house per year, there would only be 40 new students every year. Times this by seven and there are only around 280 students at Hogwarts every year.

Evidence from the book contradicts this and J.K Rowling once said there were around 1000. So, it is entirely possible that there were two other girls in Hermione Granger's dormitory (although most of the evidence of their existence comes from the movies and video games) or that there was another female dormitory full of girls from the same year.

It is highly improbable that there would be exactly five boys and five girls for each house every year, but it also seems strange only having eight students in one year considering the size of Britain. In saying that, Harry would also probably have mentioned another ten students from his year at some point in the series (if there were indeed two dormitory's per gender).

The simple explanation to this is that it is a contiguity error and that J. K. Rowling hasn't actually written a complete list of Hogwarts students.
