This is a common misconception that people have been talking about for years. "Spanish Flea" (music by Julius Wechter) was never used as the theme music to any UK television series. The only TV show that used Spanish Flea regularly was The Dating Game in the US, which used it as it's "bachelor theme", or the music that plays when they are introducing The Bachelor contestants.
The confusion comes from a similar type of tune written by Johnny Hawksworth called "Up to Date," which WAS the theme to the UK series Man of the House.
