That is exactly right! California may not even come in 2nd. The United States doesn't have as many song mentions as Texas, its people, and its parts. Possible contenders: Jesus and Love. Also, Texas has an entire genre of music totally dedicated to it, we like to call it Texas Country. In addition, all small- medium sized cities in Texas have songs written about them. We have songs about hundreds of small towns in Texas, counties, rivers, geographical features, historical figures and groups (such as the Texas Rangers), lakes, geographical regions, historical events, and let us not forget the Gulf of Mexico. Remember, Texas was its own country for ten years and we fought Santa Anna in a Revolution as unlikely to be won as the American Revolution (Remember the Alamo?). Texas students learn Texas history in 4th and 7th grades (in fact, I teach it and use music to do so), and we are very proud of our history, geography, and music. In fact, I bet I could name more songs about Texas from memory than there are a total of about California or any other state. I bet Texas has more songs than California and all the other states put together. Tonight, as we speek, there are people (that would be plural) in Texas writing more songs about... Texas.

"If you ask me what I like about Texas, well... I could tell ya... but it's gonna take all night long!"- Gary P. Nunn

EDIT: No, California doesn't come close to beating Texas and certainly not as a repeat. Might want to count next time. Wike has the list for California, and it is quite long. However, Texas list covers 46 PAGES!!! hahaha... Take the back seat California, Texas rocks yet again!!!

Actually if you look at wiki you'll see that there are more songs about california. 79 pages on california and two subcategories with 30 in one and 11 in the other. So sorry Texas, I have nothing against you but California state pride. I really like the two songs at the end of your list just before 100% Texan. :)

Good cheerleading music for beginners?

I cant really tell you any good songs but I can give you tips. -Don't use music with any swears in it, my coach won't even use songs if they have a single swear in it, this will result in getting points taken away. -Don't us music with innuendos in them either. -Use music that's up beat. -You could possibly make a theme for your routine and have the songs go along with the theme. -Have music that's fun like don't use music that no ones heard of, use songs that most of the people on the team would like.
