I 1st saw Forever young performed by Alphaville then by Youth group who created 3 Music Videos, I believe the Skateboarding version was at Frenches Forest at a new development estate (there is no beach in this version ) the second was three girls frolicking at a beach (they did have a cameo riding a skateboard rather poorly) but as I come from the Sutherland shire I know it's not the Cronulla area as the high rise buildings and palm trees are wrong (but I would like to know where, if anyone does know) and the 3rd version starts in an empty room with an elderly man (Morgan Campbell) performing tricks on a skateboard that would put most youngens to shame it then moves in to a skate park still featuring the old man (Morgan Campbell has been skateboarding for over 40yrs)

The video footage in the Youth Group "forever young" song was shot in 1975 during the first Australian Skateboarding Championships held outside the Coca Cola factory in Frenchs Forest, Sydney NSW Australia. The fimclip was originally used in the ABC show GTK which means "Got to Know" . GTK was a precursor to the ABCs Countdown show.

The video was Not shot @ Frenches Forest. This video was SHOT AT NORTH CRONULLA. The water you see in the clip, is in front of Eloura beach. I was there watching the competition in 1974/75. I was 12/13 yrs old. #Frenches Forest is no where near water & is located next to St Ives in the upper north shore

definitely Frenchs Forest, as this extact from the Sydney Morning Herald proves:

Another source of inspiration was the recent video for the song Forever Young by Youth Group, as featured extensively on ABC's Rage (also on YouTube). The video shows the first Coca-Cola Pro-Am skateboarding competition held in Sydney in 1975. This footage is almost painfully nostalgic for early skateboarders, especially Brett Warner who is seen competing at the age of five.

And he has proof that he was pretty good, even at that age. That's Brett competing in the first Pro-Am competition on Youth Group's Forever Young video. He's recently gone back to the location (Aquatic Drive in Frenchs Forest) and can't believe how scary the tiny slope seemed at the time. The Dee Why hill was much steeper.
