Yes, THE MOVIE WIDOW ON THE HILL IS BASED ON THE MURDER OF DUPONT HEIR HAMILTON SOMERVILLE. HIS WIFE, DONNA SOMERVILLE SUPPOSEDLY MURDERED HIM TO INHERIT HIS FORTUNE. SHE WAS AQUITTED AND I BELIEVE STILL LIVES IN THE SAME HOUSE.

∙ 11y agoThe film was done in a village called Belfountain, just north of Mississauga in the Greater Toronto Area. Not sure on the house but the store depicted in the movie is real and still stands today. It has gone through numerous owners lately and may be empty. A shame, it was a nice place to go for a drive to for a light lunch.
