Joe Flynn is probably best known to most as Captain Binghamton on the 60s TV sitcom McHales's Navy. He was found drowned in his swimming pool on July 19, 1974, a few months prior to turning 50. He may have been the victim of a heart attack. Further, he was wearing a cast over a broken leg, and his body, which was discovered on the bottom of the pool, was weighed down by the waterlogged cast.Family members were vocal over his death, and doubts about "natural causes" or an "accident" may have arisen due to Flynn's vocal involvement in the "equitable" distribution of residuals from television shows. Investigators, however, found no evidence of foul play. If you would like to do some further reading, you'll find a link below to get you started.
A quick IMDB search says Rosalind Cash is the only one from the cast of that show that died.
McHales PT 73 was a US built PT boat built for export to the USSR. The boat was never deliveried and was bought by UNIVERSAL for the TV show. After the show was canceled the boat was sold to Harold Crozier of Hawthorne CA and converted to a fishing boat for hire with the name PT 73II. Mr Crozier used the boat until health reasons forced him to give it up. He donated the boat to a research school in the SF area, but the boat never made it. It was blown ashore at Santa Barbara and destroyed
