∙ 14y agoIke and Tina met in the year 1958 in Club Manhattan in St. Louis, Missouri. Her sister Alline would take Tina (then known as Anna Mae Bullock) to Club Manhattan, which was where Ike and His Kings of Rhythm would play. Tina wanted to sing with Ike's band, and finally the chance came when she got the microphone. She sang so well that everyone OUTSIDE of the club wanted to see who was singing. And Ike was amazed! So he made Tina sing along with the group... but her mom found out and the mom was mad! But Ike got Tina's mother to let her sing in the band.
