There is no such website. There is no website where you can pay to legally watch movies that are still in theatres, and there sure as heck isn't one where you can legally watch them for free.
Use your common sense here. If you could legally watch movies that were in theatres online for free, then nobody would go see them in theatres.

It's incorrect to say people in the 50s were not watching movies because they were. Movie theaters still did good business in that decade. However, there was a dip in attendance due to the proliferation of televisions amongst most American households. To combat this, theaters added widescreen formats, stereo sound, and made movies events. This brought people back to theaters in droves and erased the deficit that TV had created.
