Julian Barratt wrote the music for the theme song. He and Noel Fielding recorded the spoken words 'Come with us now on a journey through time and space, to the world of The Mighty Boosh' together.

The Bosstones were an African American musical group in the 1950s who performed in the instrumentally-sparse, a cappella-based harmonic style known as "Philadelphia doo-wop." After their existence was called to the attention of the Boston-based skacore band of the same name decades later, that group changed its name to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. As this earlier use of the name is not well-known, contemporary references to "The Bosstones" generally refer to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones rather than the group discussed in this article. The best-known song by the Bosstones is "Mope-Itty Mope" which was released as a 45 rpm single in 1959. In describing one of the many compilation CDs on which this song appears, All Music Guide writes: it's a treat to have access to songs by...the Bosstones [and other groups] that received regional attention but never achieved the national success initially hoped for. The b-side of "Mope-ity" was a song called "Wings on an Angel". In the mid-1980s, there was also an a-capella group of local Boston college kids who called themselves "the Bosstones." They mainly performed covers at coffee houses and local shows. Source: Answers.com
It isn't a parody of anything. It's an original Weird Al song. It is ture that is an original song. It really isn't specifically a parody, but instead it is a style parody of the Third Wave Ska movement. But more specifically the bands Reel Big Fish, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and The Toasters.
Not exactly. Green Day has said before that they're not ska, but some of their influences are (example: Operation Ivy). On tour, they have horns, which are very commonly in ska. Look up "King for a Day" on Youtube and make sure you pick their performance video. They probably like ska, but their music (most of the time) would not be considered ska. Also, the song "King for a Day" is to the tune of a song called "All Things Considered," by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, a ska band.
