Chipotle has always been my go tos when I’m in a pinch and need something quick. I don’t eat out very often but I think chipotle is a pretty good choice when you need a quick meal ?

The biggest advantage to making your own burrito bowls is that you can customize them anyway you like. I prefer to add extra chicken to my bowls, probably double what chipotle puts into theirs. I also cut way back on the rice and guacamole. I think they put way too much of both of those in the bowls. I also omit the beans and cheese just because it’s more things to buy and I don’t think they really tip the scales in making a good burrito bowl for me. To answer the question you probably have about guacamole, to prevent browning I slightly overfill the container so that the small lid is pressing right against the guacamole creating an airtight seal. Lemon or lime juice on top of the guacamole can do it the trick too. I get the containers on amazon. ⁣

The bowls compared here aren’t a perfect comparison because of the omitted cheese and beans but that’s part of the advantage of making them homemade in my eyes, you can customize them to meet your liking. Don’t comment “yeah well there is no cheese on the right side so this is dumb” because I will get mad. The point is that you can make them at home in a more calorie conscious way. Portion sizing is one of the things people struggle with most. Restaurant sizes are almost always bigger than necessary. Splitting it into two servings would be a decent choice for some of you but that’s just not as fun. I got the nutrition information for the Chipotle side directly from their website and I have a hard time believing that it is accurate. I would estimate more fat and more carbs as in my experience the employees are rarely conservative when it comes to putting rice, beans, and guacamole on the bowl. When they put the guacamole in the lil dish its probably more accurate to what they have online. ⁣
