Never- it has been scrapped before production even began as both Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire pulled out of the franchise. Everyone is aware that a new movie is being planned as a reboot which is currently set for a release date of July 3, 2012.

∙ 11y agoSpider-Man 4 was supposed to come out in 2011 however it got cancelled and the entire film series was rebooted with The Amazing Spider-Man which was released 3 July 2012. Therefore this 2012 film is the fourth spider-man film but the first entry in a new film series.

Because disagreements between Sony and Raimi (who would have directed it) threatened to push the film off the intended May 6, 2011 release date, Sony Pictures announced in January 2010 that plans for Spider-Man 4 had been canceled due to Raimi's withdrawal from the project.
