The producers want to keep their viewers in suspense over this one or they wouldn't get the viewers attention. There use to be a show during the 60s called, "The Fugitive" and my mother and I watched it faithfully and the guy never did get caught! My guess is that Tony Soprano (who has been sweating off and on and acting rather suspicious of those around him) feels his time is short and he'll be killed off. There has been word through the grapevine that the program will be off air for a year and perhaps come back on, but they aren't sure. There will be continuous re-runs of course.

The end of the last episode was left up to the individual viewers own opionion. I think he lived.
