June 25, 2009. The coroner's report stated that the cause of death was a drug overdose, the two most significant drugs being propofol (an anaesthetic) and lorazepam (an anti-anxiety medication). Also found were midazolam, diazepam (both also anti-anxiety drugs), lidocaine (another anaesthetic/analgesic) and ephedrine (a stimulant).

It may be worth noting that all of these are legal medications, though most of them do require a prescription. Jackson's personal physician was tried for (and found guilty of) involuntary manslaughter as a result of Jackson's death.
