A hickie is when someone sucks on your skin so hard that it causes a bruise. Regular kissing doesn't do it, sucking does. Honestly, I have never known of a hickie being accidental. For the amount of suction required, it is definitely intentional. Guys do it to mark their territory. Sorry, but it's true. Just like a dog pissing on a tree.
