What were the Lord of the Flies characters like before the plane crash?

All the boys were English and at school. Jack and his choir had been on tour to various countries together so they were probably pupils at the same cathedral choir school. Ralph with just one parent, who was often away on active naval duty, was probably at boarding school. Some of the younger children, such as Percival, were probably at day school. Judging by the way in which they speak most of the boys seem to be middle class, with the except of Piggy, whose speech betrays his humbler beginnings. The basic nature of the boys seems to have been pretty much as it was evidenced on the island. Roger was described as furtive. Ralph was a little withdrawn although confident on the surface, fair and friendly. Jack was bossy, aggressive and arrogant. The twins probably behaved in the exactly the same way as they did on the island. Maurice had received punishment in the past for being a cowardly bully. Simon often fainted while on tour with the choir. Percival was probably taught to remember his name, address and phone number by over protective parents. Piggy was already fat, no doubt through laziness and over indulgency in his auntie's sweet shop, before he ever came to the island.
