It is not worth much. They sold so bad that you can still buy them brand new. You can also find them on ebay for very little. But if I was you I would pass. You can find alot about the Original Mrs Beasley on my web page.
Mrs Beasley dolls can be purchased online at eBay, Amazon, and many other collectible websites. Flea market, collectible toy conventions, yard sales, and flea markets are also places to find the dolls.
A good question! She was a doll of a sort of grandmother-ish character with eyeglasses and very short hair ( something like Granny Clampett for looks) who was, for lack of a better word, a prop on the old sitcom Family Affair. She was almost a pet to one of the girl characters on the show. Naturally the toy makers reciprocated and marketed a Mrs. Beasley in the big catalogues- more recently a talking version has appeared, not the original. The character really did not add anything to the show, but was something of a prop.
Probably. The show they were used on- Family Affair , was NOT primarily a Juvenile show, having the adult actors Brian Keith and Sebastian Cabot as principals- and , of course the juvenile characters. The doll was not advertised on TV. Original was non-talking or conventional. Betty"s Attic currently markets a talking version in their catalogue, which is no more authentic, than say- a Ford Model T with power steering, unknown in the l908-27 production run! Mrs. Beasley was not as popular a character as say- Bugs Bunny or Mr. Ed both tooled up as talking stuffed toys and puppets.
The male dog is named "Barney" and the female is named "Mrs. Beasley"
Family Affair. The kid's names were Buffy and Jody and the housekeeper was Mr French, played by Sebastian Cabot. Buffy had a doll called Mrs Beasley. Brian Kieth played the uncle who was a playboy suddenly burdened by two kids after their parents died.
