There are two claims for the most sold, recorded renditions of songs in the USA. One is Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog" (still under debate) and the other is the Christmas carol, "Silent Night"
Silent Night is considered the world's most listened to, most recorded and most sold copies of any song that has ever been written and recorded.

It's likely that "Happy Birthday to You" is the winner in this catagory. According to the 1998 edition of the Guiness Book of World Records, "Happy Birthday to You" is regarded as the most well recognized song in the English language. Following this thought, it is also probably the most arranged and most recorded song of all-time.
