In Gary, Indiana when Michael was only 5 years old, he participated in a talent show in Roosevelt High School and sang "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" from the film "The Sound of Music" a cappella in front of a live audience. Not only did little MJ get a standing ovation, but the performance convinced his father Joseph to let him join his older brothers in their band which would now be called The Jackson 5 instead of the Jackson 4.
