No, actually, though on television Stephen Colbert is playing a character who is very conservative, religious and self-righteous, this does not mean that his real personality is the exact opposite. He is Catholic and goes to church with his family. In articles in Rolling Stone and Parade Stephen Colbert, when out of character, has proved himself to be very kind, down-to-earth, passionate and religious. Though in many ways he is the opposite of his character, he is not the exact flip-side.
