Violins can be used in a lot of styles even in our modern day music like pop, hip hop even rock! Usually violins are the background music not the main, more likely you'll hear violins in an orchestra or in bands such as Mozart, Strauss, Bach, Beethoven and other famous composers!

You can play about any genre of music on them. I play bluegrass, celtic, and classical. That is why the violin is my favorite instrument. You could play rap, jazz, or country too!
the violin plays lots of diffrent types of music, so it doesn't have a pacific type of music. like any other instrument, but i think classic music. it's very rare you hear hip-hop or something like that on a violin.
