A 1935 Auburn 851 SC (super-charged) convertible sedan. I think.

Disclaimer: not real knowledgable here. But this drove me nuts, so I looked around on the web for the hood ornament, which is pretty clear in a couple scenes. Definitely Auburn. As for the model and year, seems pretty certainly the above, based on all the pics I was able to find. Fabulous car!
