Edward the First kidnapped Llewellyn's bride Eleanor de Montfort who was his cousin......and kept her in England for three years until Llewellyn made certain concessions to the English throne. Edward paid for their wedding but within four years Eleanor had died in childbirth, Edward captured Wales and took Llewellens daughter back to England placing her to be raised in a convent where she stayed until her death at about 55......ending the welsh royal family.
