NO, Gene Kelly definitely was NOT homosexual. He fought hard to dispel the myth that all male dancers were gay. He made a TV documentary in 1958 in which he demonstrated, with the help of many famous sportsmen including Sugar Ray Robinson, that 'dancing is a man's game', dance steps often being an extension of sporting moves and needing similar abilities.

I have gathered a great deal of information about Gene and nothing has given me the slightest reason to think he was other than heterosexual, a good and loving husband to his three wives and a wonderful father to his three children.

OK, but sportsmen can be gay too, and gay men can be good and loving partners. And gay men can be masculine men. I should know, I am one. yes, Gene Kelly was a homosexual.....my grandfather who was a lighting director stated that it was very common knowledge in 'the business' that Mr. Kelly was indeed a homosexual and married strictly for PR reasons

Gene Kelly tried to dispel the myth that male dancers weren't "masculine", not that they weren't gay. Those are absolutely not the same thing. Also, "gay" and "sportsman" are not mutually exclusive. One can be both. Most gay men in Kelly's heyday were not openly gay, married women, and fathered children with those women. There is also nothing that says that a closeted gay man can't be good and loving to his wife and children. You haven't provided any evidence to back up your emphatic denial of the possibility that Gene Kelly may have been gay. What you've done is say that "lack of evidence for this equals evidence for that". Not necessarily. Just because I didn't throw the apple core on the floor for you to find doesn't mean that I didn't eat an apple an hour before you arrived. See what I mean?

Gene Kelly's IMDB bio shows:

Spouse

Patricia Ward (20 July 1990 - 2 February 1996) (his death)

Jeanne Coyne (6 August 1960 - 10 May 1973) (her death) 2 children

Betsy Blair (22 September 1941 - 3 April 1957) (divorced) 1 child

It's highly doubtful that he was.

It is believed that Frank Sinatra was straight.

Frank Sinatra was married several times, although that in itself does not prove he was heterosexual. When he married Mia Farrow, his ex-wife at the time, Ava Gardner, made the comment "I knew he'd end up with a boy". This was a telling statement, coming from Gardner. As well, Sinatra was quite effeminate, both in appearance and in the way he carried himself; the tough guy image was strictly for the movies and public appearances. To compensate for his effeminacy, Sinatra's pals and he formed the Rat Pack and he made overtures regarding his Mafia connections.

During WWII, Frank Sinatra was classified 4F, for an "alleged" perforated eardrum, a dubious claim which infuriated most men who served during that time, as well as other Hollywood celebrities who also were patriots. A more hidden military rejection classification was of being neurotic, but the latter was purged from most of Sinatra's induction center records. Neurotic was a lightweight classification for homosexuality during that era.

But, to answer the question directly it should be stated there are only two categorical ways in which one can know for sure if another person is gay. One way is if the person has told you he's gay, and the other way is if a sex partner has disclosed the fact he's had sex with the person in question. As far as I know, Sinatra has never admitted to being gay, and there have been no 'tellers'.
